A wonderful Husband, Father, Granddad, Great-Granddad and Friend

Born and bred in North London, Dad lived through the blitz and like so many experienced hard-ship. In his early adult life he joined the RAF giving 22 years service to Queen and country. During this time he cared for 'Gerdi', a rescue dog from Germany. Then there was Bess, a collie, who's original owner was being posted abroad, Dad couldn't bear the thought of her being abandoned so he bought her home to Mum. Next came Sootie, while we don't know how he came by Sootie, he did have a habit of walking through the door with stray animals (cats and dogs) hidden under his coat. He always gave them a good home, loved them and cared for them until they passed. Dad would be delighted to know that funds for Battersea's cats and dogs are being given in his name.
