Ronald James Davis

A kind, gentle family man - Ron appreciated the lighter side of life and never more content than sitting with his beloved Ted on his lap.

Dad passed away on 31 January 2021 just 3 weeks shy of his 90th birthday. As a a family we are so sorry he couldn't stay with us any longer but will always remember the truly shining star that he was... including husband, Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad.

Following his retirement and with more time on his hands a succession of dogs joined Dad on his life's journey and clearly brought him much joy. Firstly Sam a border collie arrived as a puppy, followed by Charlie, Harry, Ted and Roxy (rehomed) who were all offered the very best life has to offer at home in Cowplain, Hampshire. Indeed it wouldn't be uncommon to see them served food on a silver platter (well maybe stainless steel)!!! Whichever dog arrived, no matter what unresolved issues they had, they were always treated with patience and kindness and in each and every case they came through and settled down so very comfortably in their forever home.

We should not really think in terms of 'favourites' but know there was such a special and unique bond between Dad and his lovely Ted, a lurcher x whippet. Ted sadly died a couple of years ago and will now accompany Dad on his forward journey.

As a family we all feel that Dad, originally a London man, would love to support the wonderful ongoing work of Battersea Dogs Home and their supreme efforts to offer dogs and cats another chance to find 'the good life'.
